Greetings from the balmy south. It seems we go from sweatshirt weather to tank tops in one day! If only it wasn't going to get hotter........
We have had a busy week. Leo went swimming at the YMCA for the first time, and once he got over the shock of a "bathtub" of that size, he had a great time splashing water up my nose. I would just like to say that those swimmer diapers, well, when they say they don't absorb water, they don't seem to absorb pee either. Before we even entered the pool I felt a trickle down my leg. Let's just hope it holds poop a little better than that. Sorry no picture of the pool adventure, I need a water camera for that.
Not so sadly we said goodbye to our Saturn that served us well for a while for a Honda Pilot after six hours at the dealer, during which Leo was an angel, but drove a hard bargain when he started slamming his fists on the dealer's table. He must have a thing for cars.

This is our first step towards getting ready for the cross-country trek we are planning this summer. Jenny loves the higher ride, and Kevin loves sitting in the driveway listening to Pirate baseball on our temporary satellite radio. We both find ourselves looking for excuses to run to the store, but Leo still wants no part of his carseat.


Leo's latest discovery is grass. He has always loved being outside, so we spend a lot of time sitting out in the yard, and as he becomes more mobile he has figured out that there's something really interesting under this blanket. It hasn't made it to his mouth yet, but fistfuls have been seen flying through the air, inspiring Kevin to run to Home Depot for more grass plugs.
The weather here has gotten really beautiful, but before you all become jealous, please know that our sweltering heat is just around the corner, complete with bugs stuck to our sweating bodies. April has always been my favorite month here because for a short while it is absolutely picturesque. We spent the morning at the farmer's market and found some delicious strawberries. Later this week we are hoping to make it to the beach for Leo's first time (awake). He is really doing well, babbling away constantly, shouting to the birds, and singing lullabies to Cookie Monster. And of course he loves his furry siblings and can't wait to keep up with them. Thanks for visiting, and we hope you are all doing well!
