Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Winter returned in full force this weekend, just when nearly all our snow had melted and we were in sweatshirts, we became a winter-wonderland yet again. This must have been the most snow we received at one time all winter, with the first 4 inches falling in just over an hour. All in all we must have gotten about 8 or 9 inches of wet but beautiful snow, and we took advantage with our sled, having great time sliding down the driveway. Most of the Idahoan children on our street are rarely seen playing in the snow on days like this, but we love to get suited up, go for walks and catch snowflakes on our tongues. Leo loves to eat the snow and does so whenever he can sneak a bite. On Sunday we had moments of sun and some great snowman-building snow so we definitely had to take advantage, though I think we could easily win the ugliest-snowman contest. His puny, sad little arms made of green onions and dinky little baby carrot nose on his oversized head may be the silliest snowman on the block, but he's ours and we like him. Leo waves at him each time we walk or drive past him, calling him "No", his word for snow.
Leo has other words he likes to say, like "caws" (cars), his favorite object right now, and how his cars go "gash, boom!". And we love to collect "gocks" (rocks) and quack like "gucks". G seems to be his favorite sound and begins most of his words.
It's been a while since I gave an update on the only other members in this house that are close to being female (does it count when they're spayed?). Abby and Taylor have slowly adjusted to the winters here, but seem to love most the days in the 40's. Abby has begun to show her age more so lately, but bring out a flashlight and she's a young pup again! For the past few years she has had chronic stomach issues, and this last weekend hit an all time low in her health as we found her growing more depressed and listless, which landed her in an overnight visit to the vet for dehydration and blood work. After years of not knowing why she was sick so often, our new vet has diagnosed her with colitis which we can now control with diet and occasional prescriptions. Taylor missed her greatly as they are often found snuggling together, so we are looking forward to having her home.
