Winter Fun

Since we missed, well all of us but Leo, the bunches of snow that fell over Christmas, we got more over the weekend and had such a blast playing in it.  The flakes were big and fluffy and it was plenty wet enough for a snowman.  Leo and Kevin built "Dude", as he was named, which was Leo-sized, and Leo enjoyed eating it once he was finished.....strange kid!  He has a bit of an ice fetish.  Madeline LOVED riding in the sled, giggling the faster I dragged her, and Leo loved pulling her as well, he's a strong kid!  What a fun day....

As far as settling in goes, we are all doing so much better.  We still have sleeping issues, even with Leo, but seem to all be functioning OK in spite of it.   Madeline gets happier every day, and loves to give face hugs.  She will rub her face on any part of my body she can reach and does so often, so very sweet and cute.  And she has this really cute excited laugh that comes out when she watches Leo be silly for her, which he loves to do.  If Leo's having a cookie, he makes sure Madeline gets one, too, so sweet.  My heart grows bigger each day watching these two interact and show love in their own little ways to each other.

Madeline's first english words are "Uh-Oh!", but she will not perform it for us all the time, just says it occasionally.  One afternoon Leo and I tried and tried to get her to say it once we heard her say it a couple times, but she just looked at us like we were crazy.  She can also now roll over both ways, she's very proud of herself, and does so as she falls asleep, giggling with glee until she finally conks out.  Hilarious!  She sleeps in her crib some and with me some, but still has very restless nights, though her naps are getting much better.  She still seems very scared at night, crying out a lot and seeming disoriented, so I have moved in her room for now to help her adjust better.  Overall though I would say she is adjusting really well, and adds so much joy to our home.
