Well, April 18 was when we actually got around to celebrating, but as Kevin and I were engaged 12 years ago on the 17, we picked that day to celebrate our children's adoptions. We started the day by looking at pictures and telling baby stories, mostly about Leo as Madeline is still pretty new to the scene. Leo really enjoyed seeing himself as a baby. Then we headed off to a soccer game where the star player was Grace of the Kosmicki family, who are like an extended family to us here. After naps we planted two trees, one for Leo, one for Madeline, in our backyard. Leo and Kevin were the muscles of the operation, I was the documentarian and the clean up crew, and Madeline was good at looking cute, playing with worms and sucking on grapes. She did not necessarily have fun getting squirted repeatedly by her brother. Afterward we enjoyed a great dinner and a very yummy cake, of which I was still on clean up duty for, so said Kevin. We are so fortunate to have two wonderful children come into our family in two very unique ways, and we look forward to celebrating our new tradition.
