Halloween

We had many opportunities to dress up for Halloween events going on here. First, there was library trick or treating, for which we were, appropriately, Dr. Seuss characters. However, a surprising amount of people just thought my children were numbers rather than Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Grandma and Papa came up to join in our festivities and we had a great weekend, trick-or-treating almost every day. Trick-or-Treating on Sunday was quite a big deal in our town, as in, most people went Saturday. We decided to go out both nights and therefore got a pretty decent load of candy! Saturday we hit the mall and a retirement home, which was really fun and we will be doing again next year. The retirement home, that is, not the mall. The mall was a ridiculous mob for which we only stayed about 20 minutes.

Saturday night we got to get home in time to hand out candy to the many, many treaters. Sunday we had some fun at church and then went out treating that night, the only other treaters being the neighbor boys. But there were many lights on, so we made out pretty well! The funniest moment was, as we walked past a boy dressed as a werewolf and Little Man shouts "You don't scare me!" Thankfully my little princess really enjoyed unwrapping, and would then pass them to Grandma and I to eat so she could unwrap more. Good for me! But then, maybe not.....

We also enjoyed some time at a pumpkin patch, where the sweetest, most talkative little girl painted the kids' faces, and of course, carving pumpkins! And yes, I wear gloves!
